Lynn Todhunter - Customer Services Manager

Lynn Todhunter - Customer Services Manager

I consider myself to be a very fortunate person having been born and raised in the countryside of Teesdale.  After leaving college I started work in an accountant’s office in the town and spent 16 years preparing accounts and dealing with clients. After a career break to raise my son I joined Enterprise House and have been here since 1998.  I am now Customer Services Manager and have an active part in the running of Teesdale Development Company Ltd as Company Secretary. I am the first point of contact for the tenants and any visitors who call at Enterprise House, which I see as a very important role. I try to make sure that their visit has been a pleasant and memorable experience that leaves a lasting impression.  Over the years I have seen tenants successfully develop and grow their business; of course, there are some tenants who don’t make it, but I will always feel privileged to have been part of their drive and ambition whatever the outcome may be.

Val Gatenby - Customer Services Assistant

I started my career at Glaxo Operations, Barnard Castle, at the age of 16 as a messenger girl, sorting and delivering post to all staff on site. I swiftly moved into the offices and nine years later when I left to start a family I was a secretary in the office of the Pharmaceutical Development Manager.

In 1994 and three children later, I enrolled at Teesdale Training Centre and gained an NVQ II in Business Administration and then spent the next six years working in an office on Harmire Enterprise Park. I then moved down the town into the role of Practice Manager at Star House Physiotherapy where I spent eight and a half years until the company closed in August 2009. I joined Enterprise House as Customer Services Assistant in October 2009 and am very much looking forward to the challenges of my new role.

Alastair Dinwiddie - Chairman

Born in London I grew up in Ireland, Germany and Malaysia before returning to school in Cumbria. I studied engineering at Edinburgh University, and many years later, business at London Business School. I have worked in the oil and instrumentation industries living a nomadic life covering the Middle East, Far East and Europe before returning to the UK in 89 and settling in Teesdale in 92 where I and my family have been based ever since. 14 years in one place, no wonder it feels like home!

I now run Aladin Enterprises Ltd, a business consultancy, working for The Enterprise Agency, Business Link Co Durham, and various local businesses as well as being treasurer of Radio Teesdale. Being a part of a community is very special after spending less than 5 years in any one place; and where better to live and work than Teesdale and Wear Valley. Great people and great environment.
