John Atkinson of Radio Teesdale's Business Programme will be presenting on the skills of social networking. Followed by usual networking opportunities within the group. Following on from three very successful previous presentations on 'Facebook for Business' , 'Twitter for Business' and 'LinkedIn for Business' the meeting will feature a short talk/presentation titled 'Social Media in practice' delivered by Radio Teesdale's Station Manager Peter Dixon together with lunchtime presenter Katey Wallace. Teesdale Networking Group is a networking and social club for people who run their own businesses. Teesdale Networking Group usually meet on the second Wednesday of each month for informal social and networking activity. To find out more come along to the next meeting and following the informative presentation there will be time for your questions, followed by networking over coffee and homemade cake. The group comprises 50 members to date from all backgrounds and all sectors including book keeping, bakery, film making, design, archaeology, web services, public relations, financial services and business coaching. Working from home can be very isolating sometimes and it can make it harder for people to access contacts and network in the same way as people who have an office facility, says Lynn Todhunter, Customer Services Manager at Enterprise House. We try to keep the meetings informal and friendly with coffee and cakes but each month we have an interesting talk which is relevant to people's businesses. It can range from anything from search engine optimisation to media training. The group also swaps supplier contacts and works to help and support each other as well as networking for business purposes.
